Fundraising

Why fundraise?

Unlike leftover SGA club budget allocations, which are transferred to the SGA Holding Account at the end of the fiscal year (July 1), fundraised money stays in your account year to year.

Fundraising can supplement your SGA budget, be used during the summer, and be used for items that are typically difficult to receive funding for (like gas and apparel).

The SGA Treasurer strongly encourages fundraising.

What are the rules and procedures for fundraising?

First, please note that current SGA financial policy dictates that clubs may not use SGA funds, including budget allocations and funds from SGA entities, for fundraising.

Second, please view this page from the Student Handbook for Student Life policies on fundraising. Clubs must follow the procedures in this document when fundraising, which includes written permission from Student Life to fundraise.

How have some clubs on campus fundraised?

Clubs have sought out donations from club alumni, sold goods and services, reached out to nonprofit organizations, asked local donors and corporations, and much more.
